ReplyDeleteI still have not read The Boy, The Bird and The Coffin Maker, so I'm adding that one to my list. I really enjoyed listening to Children of Blood and Bone as an audio book because Bahni Turpin was the narrator and her accent was amazing and she did all the voices perfectly. All those unique words and the language were pronounced beautifully! Thanks for sharing, Alex. Have a wonderful reading week!
ReplyDeleteThought I'd return to say, per your comments on my blog last week, I did finish Aru Shah and briefly discussed it in my #imwayr post yesterday. Like you, I really struggled to get into the book. After about page 50, I ended up starting the audiobook and then went back and forth between reading and listening for the remainder of the book. I think it just felt like the humor, sarcasm, and asides overshadowed the story line, at times, slowing the momentum down. But I did finish and will wait and see how the initial reviews pan out on book #2 before I decide to continue with the series. Hope you're having a great week, Alex! ~Shaye
DeleteThe cover of Class Action makes me think of a book called Homework Strike. It sounds like it is about a subject that will appeal to kids.

Chester Nez looks perfect for our upcoming reading theme - sadly we don't have it in our library (cries). Glad to read so many positive reviews of Tomi Adeyemi's novel. :)
